Version 3.0.1

Released: Jan 27, 2012
Licence Date: Jan 27, 2012

  • Insight is now included in the Source installer package.
  • Calibration of links still needs more testing.
  • Catchments projects that use ordering and contain nodes with more than two upstream links will not work (http://jira.toolkit.net.au/browse/RM-8772).
  • If you have projects that contain confluences and use the old ordering system: when you upgrade the project to 2.19.1 the confluence nodes Regulated Ordering Methodology will be set to Harmony Based and will produce errors. To resolve this issue manually change each confluence's Regulated Ordering Methodology to Constraint Based.
  • Cancel does not work for adding/removing/re-ordering of node models or link models (http://jira.toolkit.net.au/browse/RM-8716) To setup a Weir using the new storage feature editor, right click on the Storage root item in the tree view and select Convert to Weir.
  • Copy & paste functionality does not copy expressions
  • Chart templates NOW WORK! with the new chart tool
  • Editing chart properties NOW WORKS with the new chart tool
  • The new storage node feature editor is turned on by default in this release.
  • Murray Resource Assessment plugin can cause exceptions. Copy all the plugin DLLs into the main directory to work around this issue.
  • Can now add constituents to a catchments model. This functionality is still being tested and refined. If you are downloading any of the separate plugins – DERMTools etc – then you will need to manually ‘unblock’ this file in Windows after downloading. To do this, right click on the dll file in windows explorer and select properties. At the bottom of this window will be comment along the lines of ‘this file has been downloaded from the internet and has been blocked to protect this computer’. There should be an ‘unblock’ button next to the warning. Click unblock and then click ok. The plugin should then load

    Release Notes

This release contains the following improvements and bugfixes:

    • Expression Editor now persists. This includes global expressions, time series, linear functions and patterns.
    • Selections in the recording manager are now consistent.
    • ActiveScenario label should work now.

    Known Issues

Many of the issues raised in previous meetings have not been addressed including:

    • Link to bug tracker is not working - please report errors through email.
    • Timeseries that cannot be saved as Tarsier Time Series will cause a crash (this includes 6 hour time series). This will be fixed in the next release.
    • The file name on inflow, gauge and demand forms is sometimes lost (intermittent failure).
    • User interface does not provide validation on many forms.
    • Improvements to graph control.
    • Proportional loss node does not create new orders to meet expected loss. Instead it spreads the loss between those ordering it in proportion to order size.
    • Some recording selections from previous versions are lost. If this causes problems, we will fix projects on an individual basis.
    • Clicking on some menu items will display error messages (the menu items are watercast related). If you receive one of these errors, it is fine to continue.

    Version 1.4.1

    Released: May 16, 2008
    Licence Date: May 16, 2008

This is a restricted release. It has not gone through usual testing.

    Version 1.3.34

    Released: Mar 11, 2008
    Licence Date: Oct 26, 2007

    Transfer ownership bug fix version.

    River manager Internal Release 1.3.32

    ===== Major Features: =====

    Maximum Order Constraints:
Constrain maximum regulated volume of water and share this amount between owners.

    Minimum Order Constraints:
Specify a minimum regulated volume of water at a point in the network. Describes who should own the minimum
    volume specified

    Splitter:
Functions can be described that relate inflow to two downstream links. Describes how owned water
is to move down each branch.

    Extraction Point:
Extraction points can be described that extract water for a time series of demand
that is linked to the to the extraction point.

    Expression Editor:
At selected places values can be calculated using expressions.
    These expressions can include:
    * References to variables from a large number of places in the system
    * Mathmatical operators
    * Logical operators
Currently expressions can be used to calculate splitter flow, or a minimum constraint rate volume.
The current expression system will be used in future releases as an option to calculate a wider variety of values.

    Transfer Ownership:
Owned but unregulated inflow can be redistributed to other owners.

    Losses:
Function can be described that relate inflow to loss at a point in the network. Owned water
shares this loss according in proportion to the volumes of water for each water flowing at this point in the
network or based on an input table of proportions for each owner.

    Unregulated River Gains:
At a confluence a recession curve can be described that predicts inflow and can supply
downstream orders from this inflow (depending on inflow ownership).

    Memory Management:
For large scenarios or multiple runs memory is better managed reducing the risk of
    an out of memory error

    ===== Known bugs: =====

Units Preferences from the Tools drop-down menu, then just changed metres to millimetres - Geoff

Max constraint node percentages are not validated (can be more than 100%)

Splitter percentages are not validated (can be more than 100%)

Wendy/File used to simulate recessions is not persisted

Files forget name when they are imported

Time series of demands graph looks dodgy - title + legend

Can't scroll the schematic view across to see the writing to the right of the icons on the far
right (unless I put a dummy icon out there)

In the stats tab on the graphs there is no indication of what the units are. Can we have them shown.

It's not saving the screen layout when you shut it and reopen it. It is defaulting to what would be there
when you opened it the 1st time.

Splitter Table. There are values come up when you open it before you have entered anything. 0, 0 & 1, 0.5.
The second set of numbers shouldn't be there.

Date ranges month values should be entered as numbers not abbrevations (jan feb)

Minimum Flow constraints can should be able to be considered to be supplied by inflow to a storage
in some cases (St George system)

Append file name to end of project name in project explorer

For the transfer of ownership node we need to record the transfers made

Generally there is no validation of values on various forms for example some things can be entered to
    add to more than 100%

On export (of splitter) values that appear as a precision of a couple of decimal points like 0.5 they get
written as numbers close to the value but with double imprecision and lots of decimal points. Apparently
manually editing the values and setting them to what they appear to be fixes this problem so it could be
that the actual value in the tables are not as they appear (ie rounding errors are in table)

    ===== Known bugs: =====

    Version 1.3.32

    Released: Feb 29, 2008
    Licence Date: Oct 26, 2007

    River manager Internal Release 1.3.32

    ===== Major Features: =====

    * Mathmatical operators
    * Logical operators
Currently expressions can be used to calculate splitter flow, or a minimum constraint rate volume.
The current expression system will be used in future releases as an option to calculate a wider variety of values.

    Transfer Ownership:
Owned but unregulated inflow can be redistributed to other owners.

    Version 1.3.25

    Released: Feb 15, 2008
    Licence Date: Oct 26, 2007

    Alpha internal release

    Version 1.1.19

    Released: Nov 7, 2007
    Licence Date: Oct 29, 2007

Bug-fix release: About 20 small bugs have been fixed in this release. Know issues: Cancel button not implemented. Schematic network window not updated when scenario name changes Schematic network builder dies on second clone Demand nodes don't update when owners are removed, please re-enter form and select a valid owner. Causes an exception at run-time Closing a project doesn't release all the memory for that project Large-Data TimeSeries are consuming large amounts of memory. When they exceed available memory performance degrades quickly. Work-around - turn of large-data in the advanced menus (ALT-F12). Record fewer variables. Existing persisted recording options result in extra recording of variables. Copying scenarios does not work in all cases. SILO failing to run No persistence in colour changes for layer manager

    Version 1.1.17

    Released: Oct 29, 2007
    Licence Date: Oct 29, 2007

Major Features: New recording and reporting infrastructure Ceding of water in a storage Ownership of outlet constraints Timeseries of demands and gauge forms Known issues: Cloning of anabranch throws a not implemented exception. Cancel button is not implemented. Schematic network window does not update when the scenario name changes Schematic network builder dies when the network is cloned twice Demand nodes do not update when owners are removed, please re-enter form and select a valid owner. It causes an exception at run-time Ownership numbers may be incorrect
